The Web is one of Anchorage’s largest engagement centers. The many populations served by the Web include mental health consumers, persons recovering from substance abuse and the homeless. In addition to serving a variety of needs in the community, the Web also serves a variety of people including Alaska Natives, African Americans, American Indians and others from around the state and the country. In a one month period this summer the Web had over 800 visits for services such as computer access, substance abuse recovery and women’s support groups. The individuals involved in the Web volunteers, staff, board members and consumers are committed to building an organization that is even stronger, more broadreaching, and better than it has been in the past.
