The City of Seward is South Central Alaska’s playground. A remarkable and vibrant community of 3000 people, Seward is located 125 miles south of Anchorage at the beginning mile 0 of the Seward Highway. National Geographic Adventure Magazine listed Seward among the top ten adventurebased outposts in America Seward’s Small Boat Harbor is situated on the northern edge of Resurrection Bay, which multiple publications have ranked as one of the top sailing destinations in the United States. Here youll find easy access to Exit Glacier, Kenai Fjords National Park, fishing, kayaking, camping, flightseeing, and an assortment of other activities. Seward welcomes a variety of vessels that make up our commercial fishing fleet: longliners, purseseiners, and gillnetters. The area has over 100 charter boat operators and a dozen tour boat operators to help you enjoy the Kenai Fjords National Park and beyond. We are the proud home port of the US Coast Guard Cutter Mustang and we routinely welcome members of the US Naval Fleet. We are a full service port with 50ton and 250ton Travelifts, a 5000ton syncrolift, boat repair yards, potable water and power utilities, hardware stores, grocery stores, art galleries, restaurants, hotels and many other amenities to meet every need.
